Dome or courtesy light wiring issues.
I decided to add puddle lights on my Jeep. Problem is, when I use or exclude a relay the lights stay on. I have a 01 Jeep Cherokee, I want the puddle lights to come on when I open the door and off when I close it..... Anyone have a solution?

Which one? There are 3! I get 12 in the yellow, 4 in the blue on black and not reading on the black. Not even when used with the other two.....

When I spliced the switch, I tapped into two wires. When I did, either the dome lights stopped working or they stayed on dim. I have LED's already in the sockets, but I wanted to add undercarriage lights to my jeep.

Being book smart is my worst enemy! Now I see why they call me Urkel! The door switches are on the negative side. I should have tested this before. There is constant power on the positive.
If adding undercarriage lights that work when the door opens. Tap the positive side a any constant power source, add a 5 amp fuse. Take the negative and tap any vanity/courtesy/dome light. If you tap into the switch, it will only operate via that switch.
The undercarriage lights will operate when the trunk, doors and dome light comes on. The ground is the on/off switch.
