Default Need to find a switched 12v source...

Hey guys.....

Installing the FF dynamics triple threat set up and the instructions want the fans wired into a 12 v switched source so that when the ign switch is keyed on 12 v are sent to the fans. My initial reaction was just to wire it into the 12 remote line off the aftermarket head unit i have. (96 jeep cherokee xj se....) The more i thought about it, the more i decided it wasnt a good idea... the remote wire runs off a switching transistor that would short out around 1 amp... (http://www.bcae1.com/headunit.htm) So what im wondering is if there is a known 12v switched source that has been used in these fan hook ups before. or if there is a switched 12v spot in the ffuse box? thanks for the help guys!

There are keyed on 12v sources in the fuse box you can use.

But wire the fans up with a relay, and just use the key on power to trigger the relay, and use fused battery power to actually run the fan

You can tap into almost any key on source to trigger the relay, because it requires very little current
