Dash Identification
hey guys, I'm wanting to reposition my offroad light switch somewhere a little easier to access rather than under the dash. I was wondering if anyone knew what was behind here
nothing has ever lit up there since I've had it and it doesn't say in the manual. I would like to know before I hack it up though.

That panel has the clock electronics attached to backside. Could replace that panel with a stock dummy panel if you want to put switches there.
Here are pics of the clock variations.

I wired mine to the front of the aftermarket cupholder in the console. I can easily slid my fingers down the front of it and operate the switch, which is also a lighted rocker. Keeps from fumbling around the dash..

thanks steve! I always wondered what that black square was. that gives me a few ideas, I also considered putting it down on my shifter bezel for quick and easy access. that would probably be the better way so I don't have to fab up a new plate to stick behind the dash

If the clock location is your preferred spot, should be able to find a dummy panel for a dollar or two in the part-out section the classifieds, here on the forum.
I use that location for switches and stuck a digital clock over the idiot lights.

What about when doing e-brake turns, do the switches get hit? lol

I really like the idea for the pillar pod switches, I might have to invest in a few and do that! for now I'm gonna find some spots and see how I like them, I'd love to see other places the switches have been put as well

Andrew, those might be just what I'm looking for. thanks a lot! I've seen a few people run those but didn't know if they made them or if someone sold them. guess I should have asked

Some do make their own but both sites sell just the panel with out the switchs cheap,And you can order whatever switches you like.If you want different switches https://otrattw.net/home.php has them in any way you can want.
