Hell I couldn't even afford the tires for it much less a proper drivetrain to turn those meats. I was also wondering is that rear 60 a full float or semi float axle?

Nope I'm in the process of cutting them off. I ordered the 3 in 1 brackets for coils, shocks and lower links from ballistic fab.

You know the wedges are cast in to the axle on that 78 right? Those will be a nightmare to remove. The older years they just welded them on those are simple to cut off.

You can't cut them off!
On a 78 or 79 , 1/2 ton ford d44 there is a void behind them.

You have to retube the axle if you cut them off

The problem is adding on to the tube most don't have a big enough welder or the skills to weld it on straight or the know how to do it right. Its best to cut the spot welds pull the tube out replace the whole tube with a axle c welded on the end.
