You have to think of what you're going to spend to have it set up. It's cost effective just to do it all at once. So the few hundred dollars of an elocker vs TruTrac is not a big deal in that regard. Best to save and do it right once, instead of paying extra to do it twice later (regear, etc)

Do they make a TruTrac for the D30? I was afraid of going that route.. having a LS up front in the snow sounds like a bad idea. That's why I went with an e-locker, so I could keep it open in the snow.

I used a NP242 with Posi-Trac's (LSD) front and rear. Never had any issues with the Full-Time. An LSD/Posi does offer some slippage still but wayy less than an open diff so you still have a small margin for error.

And from what I understand, just tapping the brakes will lock up the lsd.

They are great in snow from what I've read and seen. They do make a truetrac for the 30, I'm thinking maybe truetrac up front and trac-lok in the rear

Never had that problem. Maybe in a poorly maintained unit.

Thanks, I'm waiting on ct67_72 for a price on one. It won't be soon but within the year or two.
