Clutch whats good?
So Im getting ready to swap out motors and I wanna find out what is the best clutch to put in. Has any one had experiance with Bahnhof, Mitsuko, or Kupp? Are any of them any good? Is there any brands to stay away from? Let me know if any one has any good feedback. Thanx for looking hope to get some feedback soon.

On my last manual XJ, I replaced one with a Centerforce clutch. Worked great and lasted all the way up until I sold it. I don't know about the other brands you mentioned.

Yeah I just ordered a LUK kit with whole clutch kit and flywheel for 184.79 that is a pretty good deal. They also have more for sale if anyone interested

Just curious what kind of setup you are running on your xj, like tire size and such?
any complaints now that you've had the clutch in for awhile?
II'm looking at a Luk kit myself, I was wondering where you got yours from?
Thanks

I have ran LUK after my OEM went out. I'm on my third one. I just did mine two weeks ago. I bought a LUK Clutch kit from Pepboys. They had a discount from LUK. I think I paid about $150.00.
Also, I had to do my clutch master cylinder and slave. I bought those from Pepboys as well. On that purchase there is an online coupon for 25% off if you spend over $100. Since my purchase was over $100, I ended up paying $88 and change for those two parts.

I have 33's but only 3.07 gearing (stock for ax-15).
The LUK gold clutch I have in there is GREAT. Excellent pedal feel for a DD and it has not slipped as of yet.

LUK Part # 05065 (this is the standard clutch kit)
$83 + shipping on RockAuto.com
I put this in a year ago, have several thousand miles on it, no issues at all. I also bought the LUK flywheel.

Ive had a luk for almost two years and have been satisfied. It chatters a lil on take off but thats not the clutches fault had a relative do the swap since I had never done one and he sad he had done plenty. I would do it myself after knowing whats involved.

How bad is this combo? I am leaning pretty hard on going to 33x10.50 but cant afford a gear change right now. I need tires before winter. Thanks.

Thanks for The input guys, sorry for the thread jack!
I'm also curious how the 33's and 3.07's are working out??
I have the same factory gears and found a smoking deal on some 33/12.5's
I'm considering running them for the winter as well but was worried about my stock gearing turning them.

33's on 3.07 gears sucks. Highway 5th gear is almost useless. 1st on any sort of hill you have to slip the clutch quiet a bit. and even in 4low you don’t move slow enough i constantly find my self having to slip the clutch to keep from running the guy in front of me over.

It is however livable. I should have put that in the previous post. You just have to relearn all your shift points ect ect. Im Currently saving up some cash to do gears and another locker.

Has anybody ran an upgraded clutch to help with larger tires?
Not sure what's in my cherokee but also on 3.07 gears with 32" (245/75/17) street tires and have 33x12.5 mud tires for offroad. Gears seem to do ok and clutch has been holding but don't know what will hold up to some abuse especially with the heavier and wider mud tires.
