I think there's a write up on this. You can use everything off a zj you just have to enlarge the hole on the backing plate. Don't forget the proportioning valve.

I did the ZJ swap on mine and it was an easy job. Just a bit of grinding and your good to go. I think the liberty E-brake cables are a match for length though. The ZJ E-brake cable is too short on the passenger side. Also, you dont have to swap the proportioing valve, they work just fine without it. Its up to you.

Huh? The backing plates and caliper bracket are all one unit riveted together. I did this swap on mine, might be the best mod i've done so far. Braking is now effortless and totally controlled. I didn't use the ZJ prop valve, so i don't know if you'll see any further improvements with it.

The people who say you don't need the ZJ proportioning valve haven't used the ZJ proportioning valve.
Sure it works with the XJ valve - but it works much better with the ZJ valve.
On the parking brake setup - I looked at a bunch of options and ended up using the XJ cables. I had to trim the spring and then loop the cable/cable clamp it but it works fine.
I couldn't really come up with a better alternative - and I had ZJ cables at my disposal.

I rebent, shortened and reflared my hard lines as they will be too long with the disc setup, you could also get creative looping/bending them to take up the extra length. Be careful though, don't want to kink them. You'll also have to figure out a way to mount the inside end of the soft line to the axle. I drilled a hole in the axle housing, tapped it and bolted the free end of the soft line down. I've seen other guys weld it on, i didn't have access to a welder at the time. If you do this, seal it up with some RTV.
