Cherokee Horns!!
I searched around the site and could only find issues relating to air horns as replacements for those wonderful stock horns that Jeep used on many models.. Here in the Northeast, our running is mostly old logging roads and mud. Not to mention lots of water. Well I got fed up with replacing horns as the stock horns do not adapt well to submersion. I eventually cleaned out my salvage and also got sick of replacing horns after trips where the horns took prolonged water rides and Would usually quit after a few runs. I didn't want to change the location because you can barely hear them anyway and came up with a solution at least for me. I went to a local marina and purchase a couple of stainlees horns that are just about the size of the stock horn. Stainless and WATERPROOF. I've got over a year on these 2 and never any issue again plus they are far louder than the stock horns. They mount easily in the original locations and were $ 12.95 each.. Issue SOLVED! Just a thought if your jeep is in a lot of water.

I got one of those "ooooga" type horns from harbor freight for about $15 bucks. Freaks people out, they're not expecting it. Submerged it in water a bunch, sounds gurgly for a day or two but it clears out.

Had one of those myself, doesn't help in traffic. can't be angry with the oooga horn I'm afraid. I replaced it with 2 sets of horns from crownvics. Plenty loud now. They're nice as they come on a mount bracket already and are easily accessible in the junkyard.

I bought a set of Hella Supertones for my Subaru, but I wouldn't put them on a Jeep. They're a loud "small car" horn. They sound right coming from a sports car. They would sound goofy coming from a Jeep. Like a dude with a girl voice.

I don't know about that...I know plenty of desert racers that use them on their race trucks and buggies..

If desert racers want to make their trucks sound girly, that's just spiffy for them. Personally I feel like my truck deserves to sound like a truck.
