Default Swapping axles need help!

I may be getting a second Cherokee, mine is pretty tired but i was wondering if there would be a problem putting a 99 front axle into an 01? I just put some heavy duty off roading mounts for my control arms on and really want to swao em over.

It's a direct bolt in.

If you're going to swap the front axle, you'd be better off finding one from a 98 or earlier. 99-01 have the low pinion dana 30, while the ealier models have a high pinion D30. As far as I know, everything is interchangeable between the two axles except for gears.

They're all direct bolt ins.

It should just bolt in no problem, the LP drive-line is a little longer IIRC, if your lifter it shouldn't be a bad thing, If your stock height and plan on staying there I would swap drive-lines too just so the length is already correct

(assuming they both are autos/manual)

I would have sworn the low pinion swap was made with the 99 model year?

Default "I'm not a crook!"

I don't mean to hi-jack this forum , but since we are talking about swappin out axles I am rebuilding a High Pinion D-30 and have broken zerks. Can I replace the caps on the top of the "C" bracket? If so how. Any help would be great....
