JMO but buying a spare set used would be a lot cheaper and spend that money toward other things, as they never seem to end

Definitely don't bother buying ten factory shafts for the 8.25 they're only 1541H steel which is only marginally stronger than oem shafts, just get some junkyard spares like Fred said.

The 10 factory axles for the 8.25 are surprisingly affordable. They are on quadratec for 85 bucks each. Ive been kicking around the idea of throwing a set in my XJ.

Didnt realize that. Good to know.

The description doesnt specify. It says "TEN Factory Rear Axle Kits feature high manganese 1541H or 4140 chromoly material"

I took my ARB back for my dana 30 and bought a super 30 kit. It has a 30 spline ARB locker and i got G2 30 spline axle shafts. I was not planning on doing anything to the 8.25, I had the detroit locker installed and I hear that the stock shafts are good.

If you want to beef up the D30 and sounds like you are, might consider a truss kit for it as that is your weak point now.

Not sure if that's enough, might want to run rockwells to play it safe.
