Anybody use "HALO" Headlights?
So im thinking about a HALO light and housing conversion for my ZJ and wondered if anybody had any experience with HALO's and what brands i should look for. All answers are much appreciated. thanks.

I wouldn't bother with them most are a kit you install in your own headlights,Which means you cut them open and have to glue them back together. If your headlights are yellow i would replace them with oem headlights and run good bulbs or get the led kits that are everywhere.

Yeah, I have the same stupid filter at work. The pictures are on my XJ, but the same principle applies, you can order the projector cans, the lenses, h4 bulbs, etc and assemble yourself, other than that your only options are $300+ kits pre-made.

Thanks Fred! Took a little fiddling to wire up the halos but they look great. I like how the black housings look with the rest of the black/white thing I have going on. I almost want to paint the retaining rings so you can't see them in the morning/evening sun. They're real visible in that one pic at the gas station. After this just need my winch bumper and I'll be done with the body gear on the front end.
Yeah, I read all the lead foot threads.
From what I read there, I'm surprised hasn't happened to that guy yet, lol. I just got lucky and Fred PMed me about a set he still had but hadn't installed yet.

Agreed, but by any standard over $300 for a retrofit is a lot.
Yep, very bright actually, they don't even wash out when I go under one of those HPS street lamps. Having a hard time figuring out whether I aimed them right, they seem high but I haven't gotten highs flashed at me yet. I've yet to take this one wheeling after the retrofit but judging by their on-road performance I'm guessing they'll do great off-road. Planning on adding a short LED bar on top of the bumper too

Those bulbs were brighter than most suggested to use for street but I had saw a set on another Jeep and liked them that bright. I can see that they would have been very helpful on my XJ now with the lights I already have.
There are quite a bit of difference in the 2 kits aren't they?

Then just buy Trucklites and be done. Posted this in another thread. Zero hassle. Plug and play, and didn't need a harness upgrade as the amps are way lower than stock.
Old on the right, TL's on the left
Both TL's on low beam. Notice the clean cutoff line

Low beams offroad...the pic doesn't do it justice, you can see a LONG ways away.
That said, if you have snow where you live, they may not work for you. I got mine used from user Dumajones, for $300 shipped. Worth every penny. I highly recommend.
