That would decently be the glass pack and flowmaster 10. Very mean and loud all the way threw rpms. Note on the glass back there are baffles on the inside look into it to c which way they face. Face the baffles away from your engine to make the glass pack louder

It will help with about 2-4 mpg...not touch of a change if u find a 99-01 exhaust manifold and add upgraded injectors you will get ton better mpg.

But as far as that only a slight improvement

Yes it will give u more BC u will have almost no back pressure ...and a flowmaster 40 is a 2 chamber muffler and holds back pressure...so that. Will eliminate that and help just a lil. I suggest to pair with a CAI

Heres a new question. I'm building my own heat shield since i found out the hard way how hot the floorpan gets when you pull the carpet. Any rocket science ideas to this or is it as basic as I think it is? Anyone else do this or found better ways to deal with that heat off the muffler and cat?

I have pics in my profile of how to make your own CAI. On the cheap. Works well with exhaust systems BC it improves performance all around

One thing. 3 years ago I put a glass pack on. After that I noticed the mpg dropped a little and it felt kinda like a slug on the highway. Last week my tail pipe broke so I just ripped it off. Idle got more rough.
Had to drive 40 miles home and it was pretty noticeable that it was worse on the highway as far as pick up and mpg dropped further.
Friday I got sick of my XJ sounding mean but going nowhere fast and drinking a crap load of gas. I put a stock muffler and tail on and been driving it like I normally do all weekend on the same tank of gas. Usually I have to fill it up twice. It idles nice and smooth now and it doe's not feel like a slug at 60 mph.

I do however miss the rumble it had cause now it's so quiet all you here is the drive belt turning the pulleys at idle lol
Is there a muffler I can use that will give it some sound back and not take away HP and MPG?
