And a lesson I learned the hard way:
Without an SYE, breaking your rear driveshaft will leave you stuck.
I knew that, but I didn't appreciate the significance until my rear pinion yoke was in several pieces, and my TC fluid was all over the ground.

Ok folks need some help. I have a bone stock '99 XJ that I want to put a 2" shackle/spacer lift on.
I only intend to run 30" tires (thinking by 9.5).
I like my stock wheels (they were some kind of upgrade from the factory, just gonna paint them black). They are 15x7. I know a 30x9.5x15 will fit but since I'm not going up real high I wanted to accomplish a little wider stance.
So the question is...should I stick with the stock wheels, go with 30x9.5 and add the 1.25" spidertrax wheel spacers to push them out? Should I be worried that the spacers will cause fit issues?
Or maybe move up to a larger wheel, 15x8 and run 30x10.5.
Whatcha think?
Full disclaimer this Jeep will never be punished. I live in a south Louisiana so there's no wheeling. We tow the boat to the lake and take the Jeep to go hiking so really this is just to get the look I want.

Hello, fairly new to this Forum, Will the BF Goodrich 245/65R 17, All-Terrain T/A KO2 fit my 2004 Grand Cherokee 4.7 V8 Jeep? There are no modifications on the jeep ( no lifts, etc) I ask because current tires are 235 65 R17

My speedo cable finally broke and I have no plan to fix it. I don't have to worry about it being wrong anymore.
Now that I think about it I have a model without a tach. Fuel guade in it's place. I'm thinking to remove the speedo and replace with tach. Brilliant!

Can the speedo even actually read anything below 5mph?

My YJ's speedometer was off when I had 35s and stock gears. I was actually going about 16% faster than the gauge showed. Now, with 37s and 4.56 gears, I'm going slower than what it says on the dash.
In my J10, the speedometer was damaged. It reads 31mph when I'm stopped, and it consistently reads 31mph over my actual speed while I drive.

His point was your speedometer isn't off by 3mph; it's off by a certain percentage of your actual speed because your speedometer gear has the wrong number of teeth. It sounds like a very slight adjustment, though.
