That's high for just a 2" kit. Here's a better kit and cheaper to boot. Actually unless your 16yr old rear springs are in excellent shape your best with a kit that offers new leaf packs.

You can get a 4.5 lift for around $450 maybe cheaper if you do some hard searching. There's also a page on here for budget lift if you want to go that way. But as for handling, mine drives and handles the road good with a 4.5 lift.

There's no way in hell you're gonna do a proper 4.5" lift for $450 with new parts. Maybe you can get lucky on Craigslist or in a junkyard.

Most kits in the market aren't really lift "kits." They provide coils for the front and either blocks or an Add A Leaf for the rear, both of which are poor choices.

There aren't many companies that actually sell kits with everything you need, and that's because people see a 4.5" kit for $450 and buy it without doing any research. It's much easier to sell cheap garbage to people who don't know better than it is to explain why an expensive kit with more parts is worth it.

People buy cheap; not good.

Depends on tire size and how you're set up, but it's the same as a 15x8.

Backspacing measures from where the wheel mounts to the innermost part. A 15x6 and a 15x12 will have the same clearance if they both have 4" backspacing.

Offset measures how far the mounting surface is from the middle of the wheel. If a 15x8 and a 15x10 both have the same offset, their backspacing will be different.

Excellent point made!!! There are lists that tell you what is needed for that size lift on this site.

Done properly any lift you find the lift will be the cheapest part of it , it's all the other things that add up. They are the things that make the lift work properly and be safe and at 4 1/2" you really need a lot of extras and none of them come in a kit that has quality.

NewKindOfClown and Fred are spot on! Do it right the first time and save yourself some coin in the long run. You always hear "you get what you pay for" and that couldn't be anymore true with an XJ. Do some research and go from there. Most people always want to go bigger anyway. A 2" lift will only be satisfying for so long, until it just starts looking like another stock XJ to you. But again, that's MOST people, you may be satisfied at 2" forever.

Also, you can fit 30 inch tires with a 2 inch lift without trimming anything. You can fit even bigger tires if you're willing to trim.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on the RC 6.5" long arm lift kit unless someone can give me a good reason not too.

I am a huge fan of IRO but their shipping cost on the 6.5" kit is almost $300. I called them and they don't have any shipping codes or specials right now.

I was wanting to get my Jeep lifted now while the weather is nice and cool.

Keep shopping man. F&*k paying $300 for shipping and they can't even give you a 5% forum discount or something?

They should give a 5% CF discount. I got that set up for us a few years ago. And I'd take IRO 100 times out of 100 versus RC

If I hold off until November, IRO usually offers free shipping starting on Black Friday.

The wait is going to kill me, lol.

Default Track bar

I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee with a 1.5" lift. Can I use a standard Moog Track bar, or do I need a special one.

Default Stock shock absorbers

2001 Jeep Cherokee with a 1.5" lift.
Question: will stock shock absorbers, like Monroe, for front and rear work? Rockauto did not know.
