it's also a lot easier to get the new gears for a 5 speed though. Get front and rear axles from an automatic and that will get you from 3.07 to 3.55 or if you find tow package 3.73. I know that's not what he's asking, but I thought it would be a good point to make that it is easier to bump up a little for a 5 speed.

Does anyone here run a 3 inch lift with 31s and trimmed flares? If so I'd love some feedback on its performance if you don't mind! And pics if possible!

I run 31 inch tires with 3 inch zone lift and had some rubbing so went with BW flats . It is a good setup , I still have good power but at some time I will regear and put in lockers then possible go with 33 's .

Yes. You will need to get different rims to space the tires out, though, as they will rub at least on the lower control arms at full lock. Aftermarket LCAs help with this (a little) by being rounded instead of stamped metal.

I'm intrested in a new lift, my jeep is currently running a sky jacker 2.5 inches. I'm looking at this skyjacker 3" lift. http://www.morris4x4center.com/lift-...j-jc301kn.html
I'm a noob when it comes to lifts, will this 3 inch lift have everything I will need to lift the jeep correctly, or will I also need to order some parts on the side?

BUT... the fenders is another story....
Go get yourself a hockey puck or a tennis ball and throw it in the coil spring if you go this route.

Yes to both. It really just depends on your useage. If all you're doing is driving it on the street, you can "fit" 31's... but it's gonna rub the LCAs and the swaybar ends. As soon as you articulate AT ALL, you're going to make fender contact. At the same token, you could quite possibly have fender contact with 235s if your 20 year old bumpstops deteriorate and crumble away like mine did. Fair warning... if that happens, these things are REAAAALLLY flexy. My UCA made contact w/ the transmission lines and pinched them, the tire came up and mangled my fender, and another part of my front axle made contact w/ the oil pan.
Can't stress proper bumpstopping enough. Lifted or not, big tires or not.
Actually no... close though. 225/75r15. I only know because of the upcountry XJ I borrowed from a friend and was driving around for a while.

Make sure you add bumpstop if you plan to go offroad too... this is Stock susp on 31x10.5r15, 15x8 steel wheels w/ 4" bs.... fenders cut to the lip... didn't rub the LCAs or swaybar ends at all... BUT... the fenders is another story.... Go get yourself a hockey puck or a tennis ball and throw it in the coil spring if you go this route.

daystar has some extended bump stops for the front
I haven't done anything with mine yet, still trying to decide what lift I'm going to order for it.
