I am also looking at taking it on a trail once or twice a year on a trip with my inlaws. Been looking at the zone 3" AAL

Zone 3" kit:
-2 front nitro shocks
-2 rear nitro shcoks
-Front coil springs
-2 "long" AAL
-All Hardware and U bolts

Also Looking at:
-Upgraded OE style sway links from zone

I was wondering if:
1) Is the AAL going to hinder my ability to go on lighter trails? or just end in disaster?
2) Since i plan on replacing my shackles and bushings while i have the leafs dropped should i look into upgrading the shackles and bushings instead of staying with OE? and what are some more budget friendly options
3)I also am in need of replacing the track bar and would like to know if there are any track bars on the market that run 0-3"

Thanks again, im new to the ownership side of jeep life, so sorry if any of the questions seem a little simple lol

After you do said maintenance, then save money for a full leaf pack especially if you want to tow a small boat. Your leafs will thank you. You jeep will thank you. And if you're gonna go with a 3" lift, do either 3" shocks or get bar pin eliminators which will add 3/4"-1" of additional down travel to the 2" shocks. My fingers are tired, others will chime in.
Do as he says and save up for full leaf packs. I have the exact same kit as you are looking at and the AAL put my shackles at nearly 90°, not an enjoyable ride at all I would also budget for an adjustable track bar and a SYE. You may be able to get away without either as every jeep is different. at 3" I had bad drive line vibrations and my front end was pushed off to one side with the stock track bar.
The kit is nice other than the AAL, shocks are not that great but they would get you going to start with till you can afford better. I have gone up another inch since doing my lift because I did a shackle relocation bracket to fix the bad shackle angle. Get good sway bar links too, I am going to pick up my JKS quicker Disconnects this afternoon. Pay once and cry once to get the good stuff instead of cheapping out and having to spend the money all over again

I did their 3" AAL and nitro shocks. Those things are crazy for on road use. Tire slammed into every pothole. Had a good stiff ride though. And yea on top of the AAL I needed the relocation bracket and I'm running a boomerang shackle too with an XJ main as my second leaf. I call it my Bastard AAL lift. Rides ok but when they wear out, I'm going full leaf no matter what.

Quick question about the 5.2/5.9 V8 ZJ tie rod upgrade. What are all the pieces I will need? Do I just need the actual tie rod, or are there any extras involved? Planning to upgrade it when I do the lift because of the 32s.

So I'm getting my hands on some Richmond 4.10 gears for my HP D30 and 29 spline C8.25. My XJ is a 97 Country and I'm not familiar with C clips at all, and what I've heard is that they're a PITA. Any input on taking them off? Also if I do a front cable locker should I do it the same time as the regear?

I ran an Ox cable locker for 1 season. Biggest waste of money EVER. Melted 2 cables even though they were installed per the mfg.'s instructions. I had to constantly adjust the cable to get it to work.

Don't waste your money.

Detroit out back, Eaton ELocker up front and you're golden.

how loud are the newer Detroit lockers? i know the old ones were loud and clunky. are the new ones the same?

do you think its worth doing a 8 1/4 rear up? or should i spend the money on something else? i have 31's now and won' be going any bigger. like to do 4.10 gears too..

Thanks! Definitely need to research a bit more on differential upgrades. I'm looking to get a selectable locker so it's not on all the time, or even an LSD.

Sadly Eaton does not make an ELOCKER for the 8.25". If you want a selectable for it, it's an ARB.

It will definitely make a difference if you live in an area that gets snow.
