Clowns right. Lift, remove shocks, flex out and measure. Wish we can say take a guess, do this and bam, but no. Gotta measure

Default 2000 xj 2in lift

I got my xj about a year ago and have recently decided to start the build. I bought the jeep from an old lady who used it only for winter driving the good part is it only has about 50,000 miles but the bad part is the suspension is all rusted. I am a senior in high school so my budget is small. for the first step of the build I would like to put a 3in lift on the xj. I was wondering what a good but cheap priced 3in lift kit would be and if i would need anything else for lift that is not included in the kit.

When adjusting the trackbar length where do you guys measure? I measured from the tire to the inside of the frame but noticed the steering wheel is a little off since I upgraded my trackbar mount. I think I'm close but want to it to be perfect.

Perfect? Easiest method I have found is using a 4' level as a 'sight'.
Straighten front wheels. Place level on sidewall of rear tire, top of level at hub height and inline with front wheel hub. Sight along the 4' length, top inside edge of level. Do both sides. Adjust trackbar until tires line up on both sides.
'Stringing' method can also be used, it's more involved however.

Took me a minute to visualize but I get it now. I'll do it. Thanks.

Default 98 XJ swaybar end link connection

this is all very new to me, maybe someone can help. My 98 Jeep Cherokee Limited that I havent had long, already had the lift was done before I purchased, don't know any details on the lift height or product, Drives fine and all, just noticed after a long day of fairly heavy four wheeling in thick sand (Padre Island, TX.) I came back to find the swaybar endlink on the driver side that started straight is now cocked, as you can see by the pictures. question..is this correct, I realize the swaybar must move but looks very wrong. It was pretty much straight up and down now has moved, compressing the bushings in an odd way. left pic is passenger side, right is drivers side, both were more upright with even compression prior to day at the beach. How do I fix?
Thanks for the help.

Default Rubicon express lift kit

http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kits...n=R%2fERE6025M

http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kits...n=R%2fERE6030M

http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kits...n=R%2fERE6130M

I have narrowed it down to these three rubicon express lift kits? It is my DD so I want a good ride, which is why I am going with rubicon express. Is there a difference between the super ride and super flex minus the lower control arm? Right now I am leaning towards the super flex 4.5inch with monotube shocks. I just don't know if that will be to much lift for me since I know you can gain anywhere from 4.5-6. I just think it is the best value, cause that's a complete kit minus the SYE and driveshaft. Should I also get adjustable control arms, and front extended break lines or will relocating them be alright if I do the 3.5 inch? I am going to order a track bar and SYE kit with it also.

It looks as though the nuts weren't tightened down enough which allowed the bushings to shift. You can try unbolting it and re-tightening it, but I dare say your bushings are shot. If you're going to do a lot of hard wheeling in it, your best bet is to get a set of swaybar disconnects and well... disconnect it.... when you wheel. Gives you better suspension articulation and doesn't wreak havoc on your bushings

thanks for the reply. is this connection under tension, do I just unbolt it as is or need to lift the tire off the ground. I take it then the bottom bolt cnnecting the bar to the "u channel" must be pretty tight then to keep it from articulating front to back? Is there a specific bushing hardness or are they pretty much all the same. thanks

Default RC 4-6" track bar for a 2" lift

Riding a 90 xj and just put on my RC adj. track bar for 4-6" lifts. I already have a 2" lift and it left the vehicles axle slightly off center.
When I installed the new one, it was a snug fit with the lock nut touching the heim join and the joint twisted all the way in. I had to lift the Pass side with a jack to get the holes to line up.. and a little shove here and there. Will I be safe after an alignment? or will I need to increase the ride height some more for functionality?

Default will this work

Just wanted to know if this pieced together lift sounds like it will work and if I will need any other parts:

Rusty's 3" HD coils
OME leaf springs--CS033RA they say 3.5"
JK shocks--Sahara or Rubicon
coil spacers if needed to level out

thanks

ADJ track bar, that's what you need to bare minimum but you could always use an SYE, ADJ U/LCAs, etc

People say JK shocks fit a 3" lift, but they didn't fit mine. They were fully extended at ride height (meaning I had exactly 0" of downtravel up front), and I don't recommend using them.

You should also be looking at a rear brake line, and up front you'll either want extended brake lines or you'll need to relocated the brackets.

Along with those, you're also going to need an extended track bar. I recommend a double shear bar, but it isn't necessary if you're staying on the street. In my opinion, Iron Rock Offroad and Rubicon Express make the best options here in a reasonable price range.

Finally, you'll need longer swaybar links or quick disconnects.

SYE probably won't be needed, but it's possible (and it's definitely a worthwhile upgrade regardless). LCAs are beneficial if you're running 33" or larger tires at 3.5" of lift, but they generally aren't required. UCAs aren't needed at that height
