Friend of mine gave me a set of these stock rims. Im trying to figure out if I can run 31*10.50*15 on them with the stock back space. Will I rub on my LCA? Do I need to run spacers or would it be better to find diffent rims?
Thanks for the help.

plus if I played with shocks and limit straps I could probably get nearly the same amount of droop out of the 4.5 while keeping low cog.

I'm leary to trim still so I'll just have to bumpstop appropriately. Its a hard choice lol.

Good on snow. Bad on ice.

I want to see just how far out of center my front axle is, what is the best method to measure the difference?

I was just going to measure from the fender to the outside of the tread on both sides, but I noticed that DS fender is a little bent in. Then I figured I could just use the frame rails, but according to that measurement I am only out by less than 7/16". Visually looking at the front it looks like a lot more than that, but I realize that it could just be the bent in fender causing an illusion.

I was just going to drill to relocate my track bar because I am too broke right now to drop the $200 Canadian on an adjustable one, but it looks like the amount I would have to shift over is too close to the original 10mm hole, or should I even worry about shifting the front end over the 6mm my shortest measurement indicates?

I know I could just weld in the original holes, but before I do any thing drastic like that I want to get the most accurate measurement possible and then make the decision on what I am going to do to center the axle.

On mine I measured through the coil all the way back to the frame to the tire tread. Then you don't have to worry about whether your fender is bent or not. Also, I would look at a drop bracket for your trackbar as a temporary fix. 20 bucks an then you don't have to drill or anything. Most are good for 2-3 inchs of lift. If you ever get an adjustable trackbar however, 100% go with the iron rock double shear. Best thing I ever bought.

On the Rubicon in Aug I smashed one of my my sliders so hard the rocker panel was crushed upwards about an inch and the door guard interfered with the passenger door. 4 1/2" lift w/ 33s. Just saying it's not that simple but there's always some compromise.

No it wasn't poor driving before somebody tries to start s**t with me.

If you knew how to drive...

But really, maybe you shouldn't have been on that trail if body damage is a concern. What we mean when we say 6.5" is excessive is that most people here (especially people asking what they need) don't need that much lift. It isn't personal

I agree, though I can see some need for huge tires for sitting on deep snow, for keeping deep mud out of the engine bay/passenger compartment, water crossings, etc. But yeah, the majority of people don't need that much lift. Heck, I'll admit right now that I don't "need" the 3 inches I'm about to lift...All I do is hunting trails/logging roads...But it's all in what the person wants. If you want a mall crawler on a 10" lift, all the power to ya! I just love modded vehicles...It shows expression and character.

30" of water.... no lift... 2wd - lift is not always necessary in deep conditions.

Oh yeah, and before anyone assumes anything, the bottom was hard packed - it was very slick mud.

Default time for more rubber, just how much more?

I have a 2000 cherokee sport with a 3" lift that was on it when I bought it. It's sitting on roughly 28" tires now, but I'm looking to go bigger. I see a lot of people going with 31s with this size lift, but I've seen some cases where with fender trimming 33s will fit. Should I try to go with the 33s, am I going to have to redo my gears, or run into any other problems like that? Am I better off to just go with 31s? This is mainly a street jeep and I am a college student, so dont have much time/money for major upgrades. Just want my xj to look sexy shmexy.
