We'll be doing an RE 4.5" SA on hers with a double shear track bar upgrade. In my opinion, it's the best value lift kit in the market

Alright, if im going to lift my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ will this lift work for me? Does it have all the things I would need? It seems chap for a wj 4" lift.

there is no kit that comes with everything you need because you will always find something else you "need" for your Cherokee

I strongly recommend an adjustable trackbar, SYE and driveshaft along with the 3.5" kit.....and not just because I sell 'em.
I'm old, I know stuff.

Alright guys. I gonna be getting a 3.5" lift from someone for free (don't be jealous).

If I remember correctly it's either RC or Rusty's - I know their reps, but my rig doesn't see hardcore wheeling. Just daily driving and trails every now and then.

What he's giving me:
-new coils
-new leaf packs
-trac bar
-shocks

I have another guy that's throwing in adjustable LCAs, but he won't have them off his jeep for another month or so. I don't really want to have to wait that long to throw the lift on (you guys know how it is). I know the WJ LCAs are considered an upgrade to the factory XJ LCAs, but I didn't know if they were any longer to help out with the caster angle of lifting that much or should I even worry about it and just run with what I get for a month?

A month isn't really that long to wait, really you're going to have to do some of the same work twice, so I suggest in the mean time making sure you've got everything else in order to do the lift properly. I guess down in FL you won't need to deal with all the rust **** we do up here but think about things like that. Hoard some more parts like all new steering, V8 ZJ tie rod if you haven't already. Could do U joints in the mean time.

HA! No, not new - don't know why I put that. I guess when I said "new" I meant "replacement". There's no spacers, blocks, extended shackles, or add a leafs.... it's 2 coils and 2 leaf packs.

So the WJ LCAs are not an upgrade then... hmmmm.... I'll have to figure out where I saw this.

Thanks for the advice though man... I've definitely been wanting to upgrade the steering components so I'll hit the JY and get everything all together and what not.

Okay the REAR ones... I knew there was something, somewhere about that. Makes more sense now. You're right though, it wouldn't make sense to by new LCAs to hold me over till I get the other ones.

As far as the steering, you think it would be cheaper to by new drag link and tie rod than to get one from the JY and replace the ends?

The ends of the XJ drag link and ZJ tie rod are not replaceable. They're cast assemblies. Could get the adjusting sleeves I guess? Seems like a waste of time for a <$10 part.

I have a similar question:

have a 87 XJ that I've lifted 3.5 with new leafs, coils, etc. I did not do the SYE at this point, but have been tweaking down (1 3/8") a TC drop that has almost completely eliminated the u-joint harmonic vibration. Not doing any serious off-road, but some trail and running 31s.

What are my risks without the SYE?

Premature motor mount failure.
U-joint failure, and when that happens you'll drop the drive shaft as well. If the slip yoke gets pulled out of the t-case you'll loose your fluid as well.
