What lift height requires extended brake lines?
I'm pulling the trigger on the 3" Zone Offroad today. I just want to make sure I have everything all ready to go that I'll need to keep the install going.
I always hate to stop mid-project for a missing part break...
Thanks.

IDK, for me most 'read-between-the-lines' comments from SeriousOffroad make more sense than the post they refer to, lol. Must be the altering of perception that comes with advanced age.

Ok so i just bought a 3" lift kit off some guy on craigslist and it came with fixed tube lca's, i measured them and from center to center it is 16.75" and the stock ones are 15.75", can i use that much longer of an lca on a 3 inch lift or are they to long?

Spring compressors? Even if the links are rusted together it might me easier and cheaper to just by a new set of links and cut off the old ones. When I do my lift that is how I am getting rid of the factory links, but I will be upgrading to disconnects at the same time.

This is probably a stupid question, but here it goes. its multi part.
First im doing a 3.5" lift, the rear is done. Now its time for the front.
I'm not building a rock crawler, but more of and scout camping/emergency vehicle. Forests and mountain roads mostly.
I have the Rubicon springs, adjustable track bar, and shocks. Do I need to replace the sway bar links and LCA's with longer ones?
If I need LCA's, I heard that the Grand Cherokee 2004-2009 LCA will work. Is that true

They're the same length as XJ arms, so there's no point on a 3" lift. You can use stock arms, but a perfect configuration would have longer LCAs.
I agree with the first line, but he meant to ask about WJs. the year range he gave, though, is almost in line with the WK series.

I just installed a 3 inch lift on my XJ (daily driver) and ended up spending the extra cash on upper and lower arms, got mine from Rustys Offroad, didn't spring for the adjustables but during the check out process you indicate the size of your lift and they build them to fit your vehicle. I think I paid $130 for each set.... Without the longer arms you will notice your axle closer to the firewall than stock, plus it's my understanding that a larger tire (I run 31" Goodyear MTR) will rub on stock arms. With the Rusty's arms, zero rubbing at full turn. As far as the sway bar disconnects, I put those on as well, just to give me the option of a better off road experience.... You can find some on eBay for under $100..... One thing you will also need are longer brake hoses, just go to your local Autozone, Advance, O'Reileys, etc and pick up some for a 1995 Wrangler, they fit exact and are 3" longer..... Last thing you need is a broken line on top of mountain......

The problem with fixed uppers and lowers is that the only way to adjust the alignment is with shims behind the lower arms. Wheelbase cannot be adjusted either.
Have you done a DIY alignment?

Question: this may sound dumb but is it at all possible to get say a 3 in lift then install a 1.5 in budget boost to get an all around 4.5 in lift without having to get the other modifications that are needed with a normal 4.5 in lift

Nope. A lift is a lift on these, regardless of the combination of parts.

ok so I am torn and on a very tight budget.
01 xj sport 4x4 dana 30/35 all stock as of now.
trail rig, hunting, light playing want to get to harder to reach hunting holes. no hardcore crawling...not looking to trim, tuck or fold, want to run stock bumper for now. this is my daily driver, will be on the road mostly, but I am an avid hunter, fisher.
wanting least 3 to 3.5 inches of lift and to be able to run 31x10.50s
needing to know every last thing I need to go from stock to lifted with no problems. as I am working two jobs right now to get this lift, so I can finish my truck(my real money pit)
Wheels and tires- prolly going to get the jegs versions of the crager soft 8s 15x8 with 3.75 back spacing(or do I need a different Bs with 31x10.50?)
I know Rc and rustys are semi frowed upon, but i need a higher jeep.
so... I am looking at the Rc 3 inch lift series II with the full leaf packs.
now if I get this kit do I need a adjustable trac bar?
sway bar discos?
front and rear extended brake lines?
TC drop kit?
bump stops?
OR....
Rustys 3 inch complete wheel and tire package with full leafs.
this kit seems less...complete, and shipping is higher
but looks like Id need sway bar discos?
extended brake lines(front and rear?)
Lcas?
tac bar?
tc drop kit?
bump stops?
Sorry for the beat to death questions, but I am overwhelmed with info..
just want an all in one lift, to make my rig a little more capable, and better looking. just want to make sure I know every single thing I will NEED so I can get this done. dont want to get a kit and be missing something I will need, cause this is my DD... will need to be a one to two day max project(yes I am mechanically inclined no need to worry there) cant afford to wait for some part i am missing to be shipped...I to fat to walk to work. lol
thanks.
