Default 3 inch lift questions

i plan on ordering a 3 inch lift within the next month and was wondering if i should do a t-case drop? or an SYE? or anything with my driveline? im very new to this so i dont know much about anything. im getting this lift http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_3x.html and besides a steering stabilizer is there anything else i should get with this or is that everything im going to need?

EDIT found a thread about the SYE's and tcase drops so i have that all figured out... but i still want to know is everything i need included in the kit or is there anything else i should order? or that you guys recomend?

I would defintely go with full leaf packs unless this is temporary... I bought that same kit and 2 months later i want to go 5.5 full leafs and thinking about long arms but at 3in i didnt do sye or tcase drop....but then again i have an older xj (93) which you can lift a little higher than a newer one before needing all that

its mainly going to be a DD with an occasional night wheelin so i feel like the full leafs are really not nessary for me (atleast for right now) and there also kind of out of my budget, but i think i plan on staying at 3 inches so its not gonna be a temporary thing, and i can always just get new leafs and springs (if i really need to) in the future if things with the AAL dont work out well. ya know what i mean? this stuff is so confusing to me lmao

I have an 01 and got the aal with 1" blocks and it holds up great and rides great. I didnt do a t case drop or sye but i do get a little vibes accelerating and on the highway but it doesnt bother me. I might end up buying a t case drop though just to get rid of them

I also just put on this lift and got the AAL. Im very pleased with it. As for the aal, once they sag im going to put on the rc shackle relocation bracket so it will flex better. You also might want to look into a new track bar. Im fixin to order one from rock krawler. As for the tc drop, i needed one. I dont know how mechanically inclined you are or what kind of tools you have, but if you put the lift on and need one, just go to lowes or homedepot and buy yourself an angle grinder(if you plan on doing work to your jeep, it will come in handy), a drill if you dont have one, the right size drill bit, some new bolts and some 1" box steel tubing. Dont spend your money on buying one when you can make one and get new tools out of it!

well i dont have a "set" budget but my my mom is helping me pay for the lift (and tires) for christmas. so if its to much its not gonna fly over well with her so im gonna say that 400 would be my limit for the lift cause i still have to worry about buying tires. you have a link to there ebay store? cause i didnt find it. i did find brand new rc 3 inch lifts (not being sold by rc themselfs) but they were the same price that the rc website

The best thing about owning a jeep is learning as you go!

This is my opinion.....I did not have alot of money and i bought the entry lvl rough country 3 inch lift ( the one for $245) and it works great for me and i love the way it rides/works off road. I use mine as a dd and i drive it once in awhile through the creek/mud/rocks and it does fine and flexes decent.

Now to the questions i have not had any problems with my driveline, no vibes, no shaking, nothing. my old shocks were old rusty and wore out so this lift was a good PLUS for me....So thats my opinion.

Here is a pic of my 1997 jeep cherokee 4x4 with the entry lvl rc lift and 31/10.50/R15 bfg km2s..

My tires and rims from discount cost me a total of $1064 my lift was like $260. and that is all that has been done to the suspention.

This is with 3 inch lift and stock rims and tires.

And this is all stock.

No vibes, no shacking, no sagging.

I have had my jeep for a year and the lift for 9 months so i am happy with it and i will probably be upgrading to a 4.5in lift from rc.
