ok, I want something that isn't too pricey considering I'm 19 and in college with not a whole lot of money to throw around. But I want to do it right.

I'd go lunchbox then. Considering if you go full case you'll have to have the gears set up and you're looking at anywhere from 2-600 bucks just in labor. Lunchbox lockers run less than 300 bucks and are pretty simple to install and you don't have to mess with the gears.

I don't need to worry about labor, doing it myself. Don't lunchbox lockers eat tires? Thought this was mentioned earlier..

They "DO NOT" eat up tires I have Detroit Lockers in both my Chy 8.25 and the D30 neither do that. I really like the Detroit's but they are at the upper end on cost around $700 or so.
The "Lunchbox Lockers" are loud where mine aren't they are quiet in operation.
I don't know about your tire size now or intended but now would be a good time to consider a gear change if anything other than stock size will be used. Vendors have gear sets that include both front and rear gears with master install kits for reasonable prices mine were about $450 for the 4.56's for the 8.25 and the D30 from Rustys Off Road.

Lunchbox and fullcase auto lockers will differentiate (unlock) in a turn as long as you aren't on the gas.
Selectables are open until you engage them from the cab (Mechanical, electrical, or cable)
Spools or Lincoln Lockers keep the axle shafts locked together at all times....and that is not something you want to run on the street if you are at all concerned with tire life.

My Detroit only chews up tires when I want it too.
And why are you replacing the ring and pinion if your not going to a deeper gear ratio? Dana gears are much stronger than aftermarket gears.

Actually you are running a Dana axle. The Chrysler 8.25 inch axle was built by Dana but shipped to Chrysler incomplete. the axles were assembled by Chrysler using Dana internals.
