Default 1 ton steering

So here's the deal I'm wanting to do a 1 ton steering setup on my 98 I just recently put on the RC 6.5 inch short arm kit and my 31s look a little small so wanting to go with some bigger tires but I know the factory set up doesn't hold up to well to anything much bigger than 31s I have been doing some research on the kits but not 100% sure I wanna go that route I have also seen people use a 1 ton setup out of a 95 or 96 cummins has anyone done this setup and do you have pictures or videos on the setup of it kind of wanting to go that route because I can get the parts for a good price

I would just go with a kit like the one ones offered by serious. They are reasonably priced even one of the cheapest when you consider the necessary tools to install most other kits.

I just finished putting in my serious one ton steering. It's pure beef and was easy install. I did the UTK kit honestly one of the two best investments I put into the cherokee.
I think the hardest part I had was pulling the old stuff off. After that, cake walk.

I would and did go with an over the knuckle kit. It was the same price but has a bit more work and it seemed to be worth it in the end. I have the jcr steering.

What size tires are you planning on running? I've never heard of people using the Ram setup, so can't comment on that. Personally I run the Ruff Stuff heim kit with no complaints. Ares Fab makes a nice kit as well for those wanting to run tie rod ends: http://aresfabrication.com/?page_id=668

What are the limits of tierod ends when compared to heims? At what lift should you use heims? Is the trouble of having to weld new attachment for the stab links and track bar worth it for 2.5" of clearance when the diff hangs lower than the tierod bar.

The ARES kit is the same as the JCR kit.
Neither are the same as the Serious Kit.

Just out of curiosity, what makes your kit different from their kits? I was under the assumption they all were inverted T with GM 1 ton rod ends.

Thicker D.O.M.
Wrench flats
Ends are milled to indicate L/H threads.
Dual poly spacers.

He mills his steering to indicate l/h threads as well. Otherwise, the other three.

Ohhhh that makes sense. I thought you were implying that it was a different style of steering, hence my confusion.

The serious kit is tried and tested -- if I had the cash to re-do my steering I wouldn't hesitate to go for one of his UTK kits.

When I get the funds, this is the one I'll be after.
