Need U-Bolt Plates for Chrysler 8.25
Hey all, I'm dire need of some u-bolt plates for a Chrysler 8.25 axle. I'm swapping one in while I install my lift, bought new u bolts but just realized I don't have the right plates. And of course my original D35 u-bolts are too short to work with my leaf packs now so I'm gonna be pretty stuck until I can get ahold of the right plates. If anybody has a set they don't need I could really use them and I'll pay a fair price. Don't care if they're used, just need some the right size for an 8.25.

i'll check tonight to see if I have another set. I have 3 8.25s (sadly 2 27 splines) sitting at my house, I cant recall if I have the plates, you'll know late tonight if I do (after 10 eastern time probabaly) I'm willing to ship and have paypal. If I do have them I'll wire wheel em up and shoot some paint on them.

Well, after looking at my original u bolt plates from the D35 and comparing them with the new u bolts for the 8.25, it looks like I'll be able to reuse them by just slotting the holes slightly. They are already larger than they need to be so it shouldn't take much. Guess I was worried for nothing haha.

Dang... I don't know if you are/were anywhere near Portland, but if so I would have definately taken you up on those. I just slotted the holes in the D35 plates with a hand file... it worked, but wow my arms are sore today, haha...

Haha, I really wish I had seen your post before I slotted my D35 plates. That was a PITA. It worked though, so I'm all set, but for anyone else reading this I definitely recommend saving yourself the effort and just getting the right plates.
Another thing I realized during a trip to the JY the other day is I could have just got the plates off a Dakota. I couldn't find any Jeeps with 8.25's but I totally forgot it's not only a Jeep axle. From what I observed the 4wd Dakotas have a weird setup with spring plates welded onto the axle, but the 2wd's have a conventional setup, could have grabbed the plates off one of those.
