New to this page, but just saw this post.
I was there. Anyone else go to it? Any opinions? I was very unimpressed. I love going to Crandon for the World championship off road races & have always had a good time.
The July STC was a big letdown if you ask me. (I know one of the "promoters" & from what he said it "was going to be HUGE")
If you were a participant, it was probably not too bad, but if you were a spectator.... it wasn't very good! Spectator viewing areas really sucked!
The "mud drag" course had NO mud on it at all & lots of people weren't happy.
Maybe it was first year issues, maybe it was the date, maybe it was one of the guys involved with the promotion, but I don't plan on going back, but we'll see how next year looks. I know they changed the date for 2014.

I won't go back.
Wasn't worth it to me, even though I had a lot of friends there. The guy mainly in charge of it is kind-of a . He's caused problems for other 4x4 clubs.
If you live reasonably close & have no other places to go, it's ok. If you have to drive a longer distance or have other places to wheel at, i'd say do that instead.
