That's a great lookin' jeep! Tell your buddy to take a heat gun to those end caps and trim pieces and they'll look good as new.
That's what I told him to do! But he doesn't believe it works lol. He bought some trim recovery/refresher stuff and used it on the back bumper and it turned out only okay, kinda streaky

I just picked up my 4th XJ , Love the box! This one I will keep and customize.
It is all stock with no rot and minimal rust. 160K seems pretty strong and solid.
I am new to customizing and have some general questions , I dont plan on alot of off road , But living in New England we do get Deep snow.
1, What height lift kit should I get that needs the least modifications to stock setup. I am thinking 3"? If I go with a 3" what will I need to adjust/lower.
2, If I keep the stock rims , what size tire and mfg. would be best, and are spacers recommended.
3, I would like to put a plow on it for personal use. Any recommendations?

Yup, I am having regrets about not doing that exact setup. I tossed it back and forth and finally settled on 3.5 and 31's. Shoulda done the RE 3.5 and 32's

The only contact the tires had were with the very bottom of the back of the front fenders, just enough so it would rub at full lock. If I remove the flares and trim I could probably fit 33s with no problems except my backspacing.
