Blue Book on a '92 (couldn't go all the way back to '89) is about $1500.
Figure a $500 premium for a CA car with no rust and CA emissions, and you are $2k tops.

I wish people would stop posting this type of response. True, there is better out there for less, but just because somebody got an XJ for a steal doesn't mean everybody will find a deal like that. I'm sure there are some great deals out there, but they are far and few to be found. With that being said, 3900 bucks is too high.

Too High of a Price
I have bought and sold vehicle my whole life. The truck kind of depends on a couple of things. If your buying it to resale. it is way too much. If your buying it to keep for yourself, and plan on keeping it a while, then it is what the jeep is worth to you. if your OK with the price buy it. I know there is a blue book price on everything. But with older vehicles, a lot of the time is what you can get them for, depending on condition.
With that said personally I would not do more than 3000 on it. Sure there are deals out there, if your willing to wait. If not let your current pocket book be your guide. I just sold a 1969 Commando in the best shape of any I have seen minus paint. With the original 225 Odd fire. I got 5800 for it. Book was less. But it was worth more than that. But I buy and sell them all the time. I made some off of it. And went and bought 2 XJs and still had money left over. In the end if you like it buy it. Your the one who has to live with it after the purchase. So any ones view on it is just that, their view. It is yours that counts.
