what do you put in your roof basket?
i see alot of people have and are wanting roof baskets now. what are some of the things you have had in your basket? seems like the usual things mounted is lights, hi lift jack, and a shovel. just curious some of the uses of roof baskets. mine has the usual lights hi lift jack, but i havent used it as much as i thought i would. couple times for camping. had a bike on there once thats about it. so give me some ideas for uses.

X2 on the spare tire. I like to get up on my roof for pictures, if I had a basket could get some wicked vid shots sitting up there. Cooler, dirty straps

i've had 2 coolers, 2 dry sacks full of our camp bedding, including pillow top pad, duvet, feather pillows, down sleeping bags, clothing, etc. plus extra jerry cans full of gas, water, spare shafts, of course my hi-lift, axe, shovel on mounts, chain saw, tarps, tents. used to keep my spare 36 inch up there, till i made my bumper. use it for my canoe all the time.
and chit loads of firewood while set up at camp.
i've had over 300 pounds up there with no problems.
it is very essential to have, otherwise i would have to build an off road trailer just to get to our camp sites. but i may just make one anyways.

When I had mine... I used to keep my Spare tire, hi-lift, a shovel, spare front and rear driveshafts. And camping gear when we went camping... I also carried building materials home from the lumberyard, and even a living room recliner one time...
But after a few times of having to get down the spare tire... the roof rack came off.. An 85 lbs. wheel and tire combo is too much to be trying to lift over 6 foot in the air.
