I just got my rear floor pan yesterday (key parts brand). If you know where I can get the 2 5/8" and 1 9/16" floor plugs let me know. I don't think I'll be able to reuse the old rusted ones. And if you can offer any advice on replacement that would be great. I haven't cut mine out yet and this is all new to me.

How much lift did you add? I got a set of 2" pucks and new shackles for my new '01 xj. Just to clear the larger tires on it right now. Installing tomorrow.

Try your local Ace Hardware store for the floor plugs. Mine were also rusty and gritty, and I'm not planning to drill out new holes for plugs.
This is also my 1st time doing floor pans and almost everything else on my XJ. Read, asked questions, read again, watch You Tube videos, and finally take your time. Plenty of threads in this forum on floor pans and almost anything else to repair your XJ.

I'm right at 2" front and rear. I had the shackles and pucks and took them off. I ended up with the stock shackles and Rancho leaf springs and the OME 930 coil springs.

rust bullet and floor pans
driver front was not too bad, passenger was rust front to back but not totally gone in rear. i just finished after on off work all week. i made the pans fit, cut the left for just the front and set them in beads of heavy seam sealer to waterproof the outside bottom.
i gave everything in sight 2 coats of rust bullet including the new pans b4 assembly .
it was a VERY messy job and i have paint spots on my hands that may never go!
i even crawled under and touched up any gaps where the pans were screwed to the floor metal with more seam sealer.
i bolted the pans to the frame rails and screwed to the floor metal at the hump and rockers. its solid, but reworkable if ever needed.
where hole plugs were i covered with aluminum laid on a bed of seam sealer.
it felt good to take a test drive after being in the garage for a week!
next week, overall lube job and brake bleeding if the bleeders come loose. last week i replaced two brake lines that rusted away, got decent pedal now but want better. its good therapy!!

Been battling a misfiring engine the last four months (cylinder 6). At first, the symptoms were not too severe. The occasional backfire at highway speeds and such. As time passed, however, it became harsher and got to the point of undrivable over 35mph. First thing that came to mind was perhaps one of the 784 injectors I installed last year had gone bad. So I switched them around, hoping that I could get the engine to throw a different code. Unfortunately, the code was still on cylinder 6.
Injectors were good, spark plugs were good, distributor cap was good. I was beginning to think that there was a real serious mechanical issue, something that was gonna be real expensive to fix. Fortunately, we went ahead and tested the spark plug wires yesterday and found that the wire for cylinder 6 wasn't carrying a spark.
It was one of the last things we checked because they were only a year old, surely it couldn't have failed yet. Thank God we did though, 27 dollars later and the jeep runs like new. I'm just glad the fix was simple and cheap. I just hope these wires last longer than the last set!

So junk yard trip was unsuccessful, i did get an oil cap though (whoever thought a ratcheting oil cap would be good should be shot) could not find the roof rack cross bars, the 2 xjs they had were earlier models. In case anyone was wondering GC cross bars are too short even though the sliders are the same.
No, I don't lick fish.
Im waiting on the harness to come in so im unsure if its gonna be ground breaking or not. The bar was only 49.95 and the brackets and harness 15 a piece. Im not planning on night wheeling or even using it really at all so im ok with it being cheap.

I checked Ace hardware today for something to replace the rusted floor plugs and found nothing. It looks like I'll just have to weld a piece in there to close them up. This rust and the recent cold weather makes me think about moving to NC.
