What did you do to your cherokee today?
Along with the work on my girl's LJ earlier:
I got the trailer brake controller installed (but not yet wired) in the J10.
Replaced the fuel filter.
I thought I heard tapping for the last couple days, but I identified a torn exhaust gasket on the driver side.
Relocated the mic hanger for my CB.

Yesterday I was parked at Publix and I shut down the engine and I heard the fan motors continuing to run. Temp gauge was about 208 degrees (normal for So Florida with A/C running. I hit the key and started the engine again and than cut the ignition off. The fans stopped. Today they kept running for about a minute after I shut the engine off. FYI i have been having a problem with the key switch. Key comes out of the ignition with engine running. Just too lazy to repair. Any suggestions? (I know..fix the switch!). Thanks in advance for keeping my Jeep on the road. I've had her since 2009 and just turned 152K.
Pick up a new relay from your favorite parts place or dealer, pull the old one out and plug the new one in. Cheap and simple fix.

Checked both the front and rear diff fluid levels. Front is still good even with the slight seal leak. The rear on the other hand needs to be checked over and the fluid changes ASAP It was low and so black I thought i stuck my finger in an ink well. the only way the fluid could be that bad is if there is something is wrong in the diff, or they used old diff fluid in it from another high mileage car about 20 years ago. I know there was some sort of diff service done to the rear at one time, I can see the RTV that they didn't clean up

Put in a Diehard Platinum AGM (Odessy) battery. One of the first things we do on our off road stuff. Lucky for me the wife left the ignition switch in ACC for a few days and killed the old battery. So I charged this new one to her credit card.

Had to vacuum out the '99 again. The little rat bastard found a roll TP that was under the seat, shredded it and spread it all around. It left shredded dryer sheet on top of the trap.
I'm not dealing with an ordinary rodent here.

Well I started around noon replacing my cracked leaf springs with the new ones RE so kindly replaced. Took the down time to clean up my D44. Ran to town to buy new bolts/nuts and some diff fluid.
After putting the driveshaft back on, I found this and had yto run back to town(about 20 miles) to get a couple new ones.
Finally got everything back together (except the brakes which stripped.. back to the store tommorow) and started working on the front.
Replaced the bushings/hardware in my Trac bar and added a flex joint on the axle side along with a larger 12mm bolt. Had to take the bracket off, beat and grind the old bolt out of the top... It was fused solid to the metal part of the bushing.....
Rebuilt the RE super-flex joints In my IRO LAs. Was really easy. I then moved to the OEM style rubber ones on the LCAs... wow... What a giant pita. It took me a good 4-5 hours to finish 1 without a press... and it got pretty beat up getting back in there. I ended up having to burn the old one out... Ridiculous. I think I'm going to skip the other side and when I have time, take them both to a shop and have them press the rubber ones out and just buy some poly ones...
Anyways, I have to get up in 5 hours to put a lift on my buddies 4runner... Long day... lots of blood left on the floor lol.

No, I don't lick fish.
I wove in the MOLLE packs on my girl's new LJ cause the previous owner just slid them in and snapped them, and she paracord wrapped her steering wheel. We also pulled out the carpet as a rust preventative, and she's really happy.
Gonna go mess with the new trailer brake controller for the J10, call an exhaust shop for an estimate, and determine which fuel filler neck and vent tube are right for it.
Here's her steering wheel:

The Jeep rides as smooth as glass. The paracord? I love it. Now I'm more inclined to do the YJ's steering wheel which I've been putting off for a year
