Didn't get as much done as I wanted, but got the wiring harness, NNS, and throttle kick down cable swapped over from the old transmission to the replacement. While I had the pan off to to that i put in the new filter I had laying around, but when I went to seal everything up again, I found out that one of the pan bolt hols is striped just enough that the bolt wont tighten Still haven't decided if i am just going to use a bunch of sealer to drill and tap the hole to fit the next size up bolt. I wont be putting the transmission back in till Sunday so I have lots of time to decide.

Yeah do the next size up. Theres plenty of meat there for it, just dont go much deeper than the original holes. The alternative would be to add a good bit of rtv there and just get a big ol seal. I had to do the rtv thing, worked pretty well and didn't leak. Is there a year difference in the transmissions? If so you've got a bit of work left to do.

Got my POS Bendix 9 ABS crap out, and half my new braking system put in, will finish it up tomorrow. Then sometime down the road I'll stick in a 95+ booster. Can't wait to have real brakes for a change

I used those same anchor mounts(no clue of the actual brand, just remember the box lol). Seem to hold up well for the price

Got some garage time. Removed the year old RS5000 shocks, and installed the new Sensa-Tracs. Replaced my block/pan heater pigtail cord (any of you in cold climates know about this). Had a little mishap though. While the header panel was loose, it slipped off the bumper, breaking one of the turn signal bulbs. Had a spare turn signal bulb at home, but it was speed blink on all right turns coming home.

That IS the brand, LOL...Anchor Industries or something...I looked at the Brown Dogs, but had a hard time spending like $300 on motor mounts, LOL...I replaced my mounts about 2 years ago, so when they come out, I'll know for sure if they are any good or not, as it was the same brand...

ZJ and WJ are on there. I don't expect her to know anything newer than a WJ cause I don't consider them Jeeps. The Wrangler is obviously excluded

Default Anchor Motor Mounts

My Anchor motor mounts lasted 8 months before I noticed the rubber was cracked and sleeve was loose.
Seems there is a design difference compared to other factory style mounts. The Anchor brand locates the bolt-sleeve higher in the mount and has much less rubber surrounding it.

Thanks for the info. I'll be keeping an eye on the ones I pull out, if they look like hell, then those mounts are going back, and I'll source different ones...

Default Stuck

Got it stuck for the first time last night. Pulled off the side of road to park it for a Halloween festival.
The road side was saturated mush, tires sunk in. I aired down and tried to get out. But Jeep was already off-camber and kept sliding sideways into the ditch and getting deeper. Eventually it was at a 45 degree angle in the ditch.
A Suburban had to pull me out.
Good news is the Jeep was covered in mud!

That's a pretty nice upgrade from the factory flimsy crap.

One of these days I'm going to install a recessed plug in my bumper. One of the reasons I bought a Detours USA Backbone instead of a real bumper is so I can put stuff through the sheet metal.

Like this, but with a weather door to keep the junk out

Probably have to go marine to get a decent one... which means instant 400% markup
