A little bit of welding and a whole lot of grinding. Welds are much nicer when you remember to turn on the gas for the mig welder

Lubed up all my d35 bearings, put the spider gears back in, covered it and put new oil in. Locker wasn't going to fit even after grinding the cam gear down a bit, wasn't spinning on the inside of the carrier.

I think they're a little stronger than they get credit for, but I personally wouldn't tempt it with a locker.

I don't recommend a locker in a D35 at all based on what I've heard. That said, I've been running 35s on my YJ with the stock D35 in it (open diff), and I beat the hell out of it when I wheel. Everyone said the D35 can't turn 35s, but I've broken broth driveshafts, rear yoke, and blown my motor without a single complaint from that axle.

I drove it for the first time in two weeks.
My D35 has had an Aussie locker installed for 13 months now. No issues, but I don't beat on it much. No rocks. Mainly mud and beach sand. The front tires will hook up that is for sure.
