Fair warning, gets rather toasty on your right leg and your passenger's feet without it. One of the first things I did to the Golden Badger was put carpet in.

Found that out last evening. Just a short trip to the spring for water and where you mentioned was HOT. Got the carpet hanging on the clothes line now for a good cleaning.

Lol, ya it doesn't take long to get miserable. Mine just had bedliner on the floors when I got it. Immediately pulled the carpet from my wrecked Sport and put it in.

I changed the rear diff fluid in a superficial attempt at calming down the locker. The fluid was chocolate brown and foaming. New synthetic 75-90 and it is a bit better but it's still not wanting to unlock and seems to get worse the longer I drive. Before the oil change, it would unlock pretty violently.

Spartan lunchbox locker. I didn't get to inspect it more than visually and to ensure movement and it seems fine but I'm sure there's an issue with the springs or other hardware. The magnet on the inside of the diff cover did have a decent amount of shavings, but I didn't get a good look at the spider or side gears. The ring and pinion seemed fine.
My plan is to get rid of the auto lockers entirely and save up for selectables. I have to drive a minimum of an hour to wheel in mickey mouse stuff right now. More for the good stuff so selectables will be a worthy investment if I plan to keep the truck.

"Are you my mommy?"
All Jeeps should know their roots. They lose cultural references if they aren't constantly reminded they're basically farm equipment.
