As mentioned earlier, I think their leaf springs are one of their worst faults. They are just steel leafs stacked on top of one another, and with no insulation, they rust like steel in salt water because of all the friction.

I posted some honest reviews on their Web site and they were never approved by moderation. It's clear they only approve the 4+ star reviews to make themselves look good.

I've been running their 6.5 inch kit for 3 years now and so far the only thing to technically "break" has been the sway bar disconnect, but engineering problems have resulted in a warrantied out leaf spring set, additions of coil spring spacers, warrantied track bar, arguing about their pitman arm drop with no response after I told them like it is, and the likes.

I've been a good customer, so that's probably why they've been alright warrantying my stuff, but eventually when I get the "we can't do it anymore," my ranting about their stuff will get a lot worse.

I talked to BDS over the phone and discussed how their parts are built and how they compare, and BDS does actually make very good springs with proper insulation. The only thing I didn't like as much is the leaf springs will have poly bushings instead of rubber.

I'm excited to move over. I essentially just need their springs, and I've thought about also doing their long arm kit because I don't like the Rough Country X Flex control arms.

Nonetheless, I can see where Rough Country is going. You'll see their Web site is nothing but flashy LED light bars and toggle switches and fender flares now. They look like they're moving out of the suspension business and into the mall pavement princess business.
This kit uses the stock leafs (brand new from General Spring) in an SOA conversion. I wanted to go with a RE 5.5" MJ kit but I can't afford that. (1200 bucks)

At first they were not going to warrenty them. Said they crack due to having loose ubolts. Took me telling them about the known issue and assuring them that mine were tight before they would warrenty them. Also had to dig up my receipt from IRO from 7 years ago... All that being said, they did warrenty them in .the end. Even free shipping. I was told to cut up the old ones and basically not tell anyone online about my problem.

Man that kind of crap annoys me... I had just more or less settled on RE for my project, but man that's shady.

I'm not opposed to getting wet, I DD'd a sportbike for three years haha. Not having fender flares or wheel well liners to kinda deflect the water a bit though.... I was soaked on my left side. Thankfully no rain tomorrow, so I'll get to dry it out and get the doors back on tomorrow evening.
I got caught at the gym back when I drove my open-topped DJ5 (yes, a mail jeep) without my bikini top on it and it started to dump buckets... Tried to wait it out but after two hours I had to go. I got water in places I didn't know I had, but man it was fun!

Even in Alaska, our carts are left out to bake in the sun, be rained on or collect snow.

Drove the '95 for a quick trip to town to try to find a cable for a computer project. Battery decided to crap out. Thankfully the parking lot of the local Freddie's had enough of a slope and I could get enough momentum to roll-start it. Left it running while I checked a couple of places.

HA! I never knew that was a real place. Just a slang we tossed around just about any place I lived here in FL to joke about our "highest point of elevation" (even though it technically isn't).

I also lived nearby Mount Trashmore in Virginia Beach! (3 miles). Used to skateboard the 'snake runs'. Are you old enough to remember those?

I have also talked to BDS tech. The poly bushings can be swapped out for clevite rubber.. One of the smaller leafs can be removed to adjust rate.

Finished mounting extended front brake hoses w/ stainless hardware, centered front axle, performed front-end alignment and took it for a real test ride (even getting up to 80 mph) since installing RRO CAD and it rode/handled better than it ever has.

I honestly don't believe it will need adjustable UCA/LCA's. It seems dead-nuts on everywhere with no adverse affects. Granted, I've got a small fortune tied up in the front end but, what are the odds? Or am I just one lucky s.o.b.?

At worst, it just means I can spend the $ on something else!

Did the old tattoo shop back alley starter swap after finishing my back piece. Glad I had my random junk yard set in the ride.

Since today was about the only day it hasn't been raining, I took the Jeep out for some photos.
