can anybody give me a diagram of how to install trailer wiring for a 96 xj

If u buy one for a 96 xj it just plugs in! I would get one from a junk yard. It plugs in right behind the driver rear plastic panel in the cargo area. No diagram needed its tard proof. And from a pick and pull junk yard probably $5. Just saying.

i pulled the back panel off i dont have a plug in harness in mine and if i do its hidden somewhere back there i have to splice everything together

i got it by pulling off the rear tail light and using the access holes there. (plugging and un plugging and soon to be re plugging)

what the hell would i do without you 96 thats two days strait youve helped me out. ill pull it off tomorrow n see. can i buy a wire harness to plug into it anywhere or just ripe one out from a jy and rewire it

i would see if a cherokee has one in the JY, or price one at U-Haul. But you want something that plugs into the harness, there is NO room to work in the tail light housing.... hahaha you would have to pull the entire panel...

okay i see what you are saying. And that is the one i bought from uhaul lol.... it came with 5' wiring and the 4 prong end for the trailer and that end for the jeep

yea it has the four wires to splice and the ground wire and it has the connecter for a trailer and another one for a u haul trailer

yup thats the one i have. Wierd yours did not come with the "jeep" connector on the other end...

yeah go to the salvage yard and try to pick it up, then splice it in!

these are the wiring harnesses behind my driver side back panel and tail light witch one is it that i would splice into.i really need to get this done before monday and no auto stores carry it they have to order it and it takes a week to come in
