FWIW, I just bought a 93 Cherokee and discovered the floorboards were worse off than I thought they were...

I am in the process of finishing up using a POR-15 Floorboard Restoration Kit (I found the kit online for $111). I am not a welder and was looking for something that I could do in my garage. The goal was (is) to stop (or slow down...) the rust and make the interior weather tight again.

Overall, I am very happy with the results and the kit is pretty thorough. I realize it is not as "final" as welding; time will tell how it holds up...

Here are some before and after pics of the interior. I am still finishing up the job, and will post some undercarriage pics once it's done.

I'm thinking adding rhino liner would help too?

I definitely considered it. I ended up using the POR-15 chassis topcoat that came in the kit I got. The passenger compartment is done but I finally pulled the cargo area carpet and MORE RUST.

This area ended up being pretty rough; gonna take some work...

What's the deal with these panels? There is one on the left and one on the right, each held in in by a few sheet metal screws? They don't seem to have a purpose... except getting rusty.

More pics of the right rear quarter panel. Thankfully most of the repair will be behind the fender flare, and what little is past the flare will be painted with bedliner paint, along with the rest of the lower door trim and rockers.

Sam, I apologize; I feel I have highjacked your thread. This will be my last post here. I did promise some photos of the undercarriage so here they are. FWIW, IMO the POR-15 floorboard restoration kit is a reasonable alternative to welding as long as the floorboards aren't too far gone. I am not quite sure how to define "too far gone", but again IMO, my floorboards were not too far gone...

Once the POR-15 is dry, I will be "can-bombing" the entire undercarriage one more time. Overall I am very happy with the quality of the POR-15 kit and the quality of the repairs. The repairs are very strong and seem like they will go the distance; we shall see...

you haven't hijacked it. I've just gotten really busy with family health issues and work and a bunch of other life problems that I really haven't taken the time to really read the posts here or respond too much. I really appreciate the pictures though and will use them as reference for sure! I think its gonna be my summer '17 project

Thanks Sam, life can get complicated... I started a new thread here, and will post any additional rust/paint/body stuff there.
