Default is it rebuildable ? old warnm8000

Well i got the winch free to use for mocking up a bumper. I havent tried to hook it up yet. I have everything that goes with it. Im asuming its pretty old because the serial # starts with 22???? .i dont know much about winches but have bought and installed two warns before..Should i try to rebuild?

I'd start by hooking it up to see if it works...

If it doesn't I can almost guarantee the only thing wrong with it is the solenoid control box. You can replace the solenoids for under $100.

If you don't want to I'll give ya 50 bucks for it.

not yet it's 5 degrees outside lol the guy I got it from said it work I'm going to try it plus I've been fighting with frozen water lines all day.

yeah the solenoids look pretty bad and all the connections are corroded

I called warn the guy said I need to switch from a three wire to a 5 wire hook up and buy a new controller that sounds expensive do I really need to do this? I would also like the wire it to in cab switch

He wants you to buy a new control pack and remote.

Just replace the solenoids if it needs it.
