Default Rear Wiper Won't STAY ON

I have a 1997 Jeep Cherokee. When I turn on the rear windshield wiper, the wiper comes on, wipes the window a couple of times, then turns itself off. How can I make it stay on in rainy weather?

Heh, another difference for UK Jeeps then. The button is a two stage press on mine. First position is intermittent wipe, second position is wash. First position is a toggle (it stays in) and the second position is press/release (to position one).

If you can search out the part number for the rear wash/wipe switch for a UK Jeep you might be able to do a conversion.
Mine is a 97.

I've got a '99 XJ and I always used to think it was just press it when you need it, but I got a new switch, and there is definitely an "intermittent on" setting. I took my old switch apart and it was melted a bit inside and a spring fell out so maybe you all have burnt out switches.

What's a rear wiper? Is that when I drive under a low tree and the branch wipes the rear of my xj?

Mine won't stay on because it slides down off the window and onto the hatch itself. Anyone know how to stop the wiper before it leaves the glass?

like it sweeps to far down? undo the bolt holding the wiper on the motor spine .... take off the wiper and re position it. It should sweep higher.

I had to fix mine to, it was wiping low past the weather stripping
