I have seen a Jeep 10" subwoofer that fits inside a fullsize spare tire/wheel.

I have never seen another one since. But it was definitely an option. Even the owners manual shows two clusters. I don't think it had a temp gauge either. Just a warning light.

My in-laws 97 XJ has a cargo cover but it just attaches on 4 corners.
Roll up cargo covers were available up through 96. The 97's+ had a clip on cover.

I'm sure the build sheet would support my idea but being 26 years old, I can't get a build sheet. Either way I'm not complaining.
Why would Jeep have installed a factory 6 speaker option when the radios that were available were stereo only and had only a left/right/front to rear balance control? Look at the radio options up to 1996. They were pretty basic. A 1996 or earlier 6 speaker setup was no doubt an owner installed aftermarket option including aftermarket head unit. There were three OEM head units offered by Jeep up to 96. A basic AM/FM unit, an AM/FM/cassette unit and then later a very rare AM/FM/CD indash unit.

^ My 1996 XJ had factory six-speaker system. Tweeters in lower dash, two 5" in doors and two more in sound bar.

A guy on here just installed a factory sub woofer that fits in the stock location.
Wagoneer taillights are getting rare, can't find a company with them in stock but I like them on my XJ.
A Dana 44 was available but only on tow packages in 86 and 87, I believe.
Wagoneer grills are also getting rare.
The early year XJs had a 10 slot grill.

I think that is all the ones I know of. Anyone feel free to correct anything I have wrong.
I have a tire carrier that I've had for several years. I just haven't installed it yet. Looks like I may not get around to it. Maybe eventually.

Check out the picture on Page 6 of this thread. Doubt any came from the factory with any. Probably a dealer installed or accessory item from the dealer.

That is a picture of a 97+ door. Not a 96-. There are some slot vents on either side of the lower dash valance but they never had speakers in any of the XJ's I have ever seen unless there was an aftermarket install.

I have a 1996 Cherokee accessories brochure and in the audio options segment, aside from the standard equipment AM/FM unit, it lists the following as optional. The now very familiar to us AM/FM/Cassette deck, an in dash AM/FM/CD player and a 6 disc cd player unit that mounts under the driver's seat with a cabled, hand held remote control and lastly the sound bar in the rear cabin. Nothing else.

The 6 CD changer unit looks to be the same type Jeep installed in a compartment in the cargo area on the right side in the 99-04 WJ's.

Not to say it didn't happen. Maybe a dealer installed option not listed but approved by Chrysler. And again I ask why when the factory audio options were strictly two channel stereo and with no options for any kind of crossover network. It doesn't make sense.
