This is the Grizzly edition up here in Canada, comes with molded running boards and I'm sure other stuff and the cool decal. Mines a 2 door version but I don't think they are super rare they seem to have been sold right across Canada in 1997 and 1998. Thought maybe a dealer stuck a decal on at first but I am finding out different now.

with the Grizzly Edition you get colour matched molded running boards and Grizzly limited edition rims.. just found this stuff out.

this is the only pic I have with the running boards and rims still on the Jeep.

I got a hold of a cute little 2-door 2000 about 2 years ago. One owner, well-cared for. Honestly my family and I all believe it was a happening of fate (weird coincidences between the private seller and our own family) I've put about 18k on it, bringing it close to 140k. Still a lot of major parts are factory... and dropping one after another. AC unit replaced, alternator over the summer, leaf springs are barely holding till summer, Cat converter has its filter broken and rattling. Replaced the roof lining... twice over the summer (to my chagrin...). Overall a great car, does what I ask of her and then some, and with more attitude than I've ever seen in a car. I plan to do with her what my father has done with his first car. He'll hold onto his '64 rambler classic till his grave. Once my "Juniper" (due to her being as prickly as one to some newcomers) can no longer be used as a daily driver, She'll become a project car. A magnum Opus.

Bart, you wouldn't happen to know anyone looking to sell a set of the molded running boards for a while to no avail other than one of a set. Paint color doesn't matter, I'd be stripping and repainting/fixing them before installing them anyways.

My only suggestion is to try local wreckers or place a wanted add on Craigslist or something.

Alrighty, thank you. The knowledge of there being a model type in Canada that came with them made me more hopeful in my search, at least. I've been searching all over the web for some, only to so far find one, not a set. I did get contact info for potentials in B.C. and another area of Canada, western side somewhere but the name evades me.

Mine is rare, Gold 99 4 door auto very straight body with NO RUST and 235,000 miles on the original drive train. She starts and drives like a dream. Drove to DC and back (260 miles each way) last week, on 1 tank each way.
Only paid $3000 for it. Win!

mine was rare. Completely stock, 109k, repainted, zero body damage and ran great. Then I put 30k miles on it, probably a dozen dents, and the paint is messed up from some of the dents and such.
