Default The next chapter...

I've been lost without my XJ (of fifteen years) ever since an abrupt end-of-life incident last year. Every other car I drove in the meanwhile has been unfulfilling. This includes my most recent purchase of a 2010 four door sport sedan (Suby Legacy 3.6R Ltd). It's fast, handles nice, drives too smoothly and has all the latest creature comforts but there's so-o-o much it cannot do (for a Jeep enthusiast, that is).

A close friend of the family is the original owner of this cream-puff WJ. Her "baby", as she always called it, is a 2000 Grand Cheroo Limited V8 with 100k miles on it. Every time I saw her I would tell her the same thing - to the point that hearing it from me must have grown tiresome - to call me when she's ready to sell. She called.

The wife can't know about my little back-room deal (for now) but it's going down this weekend. I'll take this sweet chariot off my friend's hands for something just south of the "Excellent" KBB $$ value, stash it in a nice dry space for a couple/few months and then all hell will break loose as I reveal my secret. The next chapter may prove quite interesting...

What's all this about having to sleep on the couch? I can sleep in the WJ, can't I? Isn't the cargo area large enough?

You make a good point.... I'd check out expedition portal and start taking notes. You may be spending more time in there than you expect Hahahaha
