When its "Required by a "Non-Stock Engine" that need to breath better, that's fine but a bone stock 4.0

I agree. I love a nice loud exhaust. And I also notice lots of kids at my school have dual exhaust rams and lifted diesels with stacks...Or I also know a guy who got a 2009 Civic SI sophomore year in high school and a guy who got a 2011 Mercedes C300 AWD for a first car...I see the need for exhaust as partially a way to make your ordinary vehicle stand out...Rumor has it, a sophomore is getting a Tesla next year haha. My jeep needs a personality too....Im a loud person. I agree with OP

why don't you "jeepers" do what other jeepers do and drive over stuff instead of making your 180hp of fury the most annoying thing on the road. and before you say it, that guy has a dedicated tube chassis rig with an 800 hp v8 engine in it, his **** sounds good.

Cause im 16

And I'd like to just drive over stuff too. The competition thing was a joke. I don't want a 10 series or straight pipes haha. I personally just like to hear my exhaust. Im a person who just likes noise I guess. Jake brakes, exhaust, weedwackers. I was thrilled when I realized that working on a lobster boat meant I got to hear a 6 cylinder Mitsubishi diesel 10 hours a day. Too bad I wasn't on the boat with glasspacks though haha

Oh and just to be clear, I don't live in some huge city waking people up at night.

Lol I finally found a fellow Mainer and you're gonna scare him off the forum

Well I know some people on this forum have different outlooks on how they want to build and use their jeeps but I to was brought up around big dodges and fords with loud exhausts and it sorta just grew on me. So I decided to buy things for my cherokee that I like and I only come on here to get more ideas.

He's implying that we're not "real" Jeepers, that we're mediocre, posers if you will. If you own a Jeep and love it, you are a Jeeper. Plus that's the reason we customize Jeeps. For us. If we like the sound ours makes, what does it matter what anyone else thinks? If I liked magnaflow and you liked flowmaster, cool. That makes our jeeps different. If I like tall lifts with plenty of flex room without trimming, but you like cutting enough to fit 33s on stock suspension, that's cool too. He just doesn't like loud Jeeps so he thinks nobody else does. Bottom line: my ideal jeep differs from your ideal jeep, which differs from his. Don't let him get in the way of your ideal jeep.

if your wanting it to sound better run the 40 seires with around 2ft of pipe behind it to even the tone out then put a header on it.
my setup apn header 2.5" mid pipe dent removed flow master with a dump right after the rear axle. with all the mods I have my jeep shoots flames between shifts under heavy load.

I can't tell if youre using sarcasm about the purring...I like the sound of the 4.0 and it is decently quick for a 15 year old 4x4. But I think he was talking about hp numbers to the wheels, not the crank haha
