need help!
Okay so here's my problem on my 97 jeep grand Cherokee 4.0 for a while now it will jump and jerk forward when you step on the gas it happens randomly and is getting worse. Another problem is at a stand still at a stop light while its in gear the rpms will drop and it will buck and want to stall. It only last a few seconds then runs normal. I can have it idle in park all day at it won't happen only when its in gear. I recently put a new exhaust cat and 02 sensor, cap and rotor, and plugs and wires. Now its throwing codes. Bank one sensor 2, random misfire cilinder 1 and 6 today. Could that 02 sensor went bad already. Would that cause a problem? My next step is checking the tps and ais. It's been nickel and diming me for a while now and everything I do don't help. Just need some advice

It's just driving me crazy because everything I do don't help. I'm at a stand still with this issue. My cap and rotor was pretty worn I thought for sure it would help a little. But bank 1 sensor 2. I just replaced that O2 sensor. I find my self changing auto zone parts more and more often. Makes things harder to diagnose when new parts go bad I kinda rule them out

I wasn't trying to be funny my slave cylinder on my breaks is messed up and that's what causes my idle problem...no its not causeing all the problems at all but when you hit the breaks and you hear the idea die down a little till you let off the breaks that's what that is

Lol its cool. Ya if its not one thing its another.. i jeep keep dumping parts into the car and its just endless. Im not sure what that actual codes were id have to go get them read again. 1049 or something like that. It was bank 1 sensor 2 with misfire in cylinder 1..now the idle was bad after i changed the power steering pump. And the coolant temp sensor was bad. Actually had to chang that ouyt 4 times before i got a good one go figure. But that helped out for a while. Hears my list of what ive done. Checked and fixed a vaccum leak. Coolant temp sensor on the block, cap rotor and wires, new plugs when the problem arose 3 months ago, and the down stream O2 ya but the one code was bank 1 sensor two 02 sensor only changed the down stream one. After the tune up it showed the same codes with random misfire in 1 and 6. I just made sure the wires were seated all the way. But im stuck. Its my girls jeep so its hard for me to tell cause i dont her it or drive it i just have to fix it when she tears *** in our drivweway. Like i ssid before it dont do it everytime so i change something i think it runs better only to happen again the next day

Well heres and update on the problem. I fixed it today. All those codes bank 1 sensor 2 and with the misfires, hesitation and stalling was the distrubuter was shot. I decided to take the new cap and rotor off and check for play. I was going to put a new tps sensor on and clean the ais. But the distributer was the problem. Runs like a champ now. Thanks for all the advice.
