Default Jeep 1997 XJ lifting

Hi, I have a 1997 jeep XJ country 4 door 4WD automatic. I'm going to get it lifted within a few weeks. I really want a 4.5 inch lift with 35s. Will this be okay? If you could I'm looking for help to find the best and safest equipment, I also will be needing an SYE.

You'll want a lot more than that. On 35's it'll be a pig on the road, you'll want to gear it too. Methinks you need to research some more before pulling the trigger...This subject is covered on a daily basis, so start reading the threads, LOL

Yup. What he said. This sit a pickup which is geared some deeper. Gonna need to re gear, plus stock steering may not last long with them 35s depending how you drive her

Hope you have a good sawzall cuz you'll be using it to fit 35's. 33's will work with minor trimming.

Welcome!

A 4 1/2" lift is a great height but does increase your costs over a 3" and the 35" tires opens another can of worms also money wise.

I have a 4 1/2" lift on 33x12:50x15's and 4.56 gears a must with lockers front and rear a good idea to add along with the gear change saves on labor costs. As the others have suggested read as much as you can about lifting here just do a search for what you want to know.
