Came home from work and saw that the rear window of my cherokee had been shot out while I was gone. Holes show that it was a BB or pellet gun. I'm in a neighborhood...really pissed about this. Called the cops about 20 minutes ago, they said they'd call back. No word from em yet. I know there isn't much they can do about it, but they should know if some dip**** is randomly shooting a bb gun around a neighborhood. Guess i'll be making a trip to the junkyard when it warms up. There is also a BB shaped dent in the fiberglass on the other side. It might be hard to see in the pics but that's the best I can get since its dark out.

That sucks man. I used to have some kids that lived down the street from me that were always vandalizing cars that were parked in the street. The cops told me that there isn't much they can do other than drive through the neighborhood more often.

Haha, I was considering asking my neighbors if they own a BB gun and were using it today. I wasn't sure if that would be rude or intrusive or not so I decided against it. Does anyone think I should do that?

I think I'll try to find one locally I am curious as to what shipping would be though lol.


Also. I was wondering, has anyone here replaced that glass or looked into it? I was wondering if I should just pull the whole hatch or just the glass.

It was more than likely a pellet gun if it was from any distance. BB guns are typically a lower velocity and wouldn't break window glass....I've tried. See if you can find the pellet inside your Jeep. It could be in the back of your seat. Be like a CSI and do some investigating. After you find who did it, you can tell em to bend over and put a pellet in their butt cheek. I'm sure they'll never shoot your stuff again.

just change the glass. real easy to do. glass comes out from the inside out. use your fingers to lift the lip on the seal and push gently on the new glass to remove it from the junk yard. start at one corner, the rest will come easily.
don't forget to unclip the defrost wires.

and it'll be easy to find out who did this. they'll be the ones running from you as you drive towards them.

1 That really sucks, someone did that to my dads truck when I was little.

2 The person who took the shot needs to learn how to aim. Invite the neighbors and there kids to the range and see which one has the same pattern as u see there ... a 4 foot spread haha

with todays new pellet guns they are pretty bad ***! ive got a few pellet rifles that shoot 1000 and up FPS. i can pick off squirells at 100+ feet consistantly.

That royally sucks man. Didn't happen to my heep, but some little ***hole punks did the same to my car, only with a rock. they also slashed one of my tires. If I could get my hands on those little.......anyways a new back glass for my car costs $1200.00, and of course the insurance doesn't cover it. Can anyone say Plexi-glass??
