Question Parking of vehicle unused for several months

Please advise if we can leave our Jeep unused for several months. Can we leave it on the parking floor as is, or we have to lift the whole car from the floor?

Also, advise on the care of the battery during parking for several months; whether to keep it as is connected with the vehicle or disconnect or empty it from the fluid inside it.

The car in question is Jeep Cherokee 3.7 ltr. limited model 2010.

welp. that's a grand cherokee, first off. just bugs me when people call em cherokee's without the grand up front.

second, i've never heard of lifting a car for storage, so i think you'll be fine leaving it on the ground. msybe air down the tires a bit or something. drain all the fluids out of it, especially the gas tank. take the battery out of the car if you want it to last. every car has a little drain on the battery, so after several months it'll be good and dead.

this is how i've heard of storing cars for a few months, like a sports car or motorhome for the winter. unless you're leaving the country for a long while, i don't know WHY you would want to waste several months of warranty time on a brand new car... or take the chances of letting your new car sit for several months unattended, risking it being towed up and stolen, or getting strange problems from sitting for a while... i think it would be best to have a trusted friend or neighbor take it for a spin every 2 weeks or so just to keep the fluids running around the engine.

I leave mine parked most of the year, bringing out to play in the winter. I put a battery tender on it, and fill it with non-oxygenated gas (no alchohol) prior to parking it. Never had any problems. I also put a small plastic container containing mothballs (holes poked in top) inside and under the hood to help keep the mice out.

Empty the battery?!? Fill the gas tank full and put Stabil in the tank, A battery tender is a good idea to keep the battery fresh, an open box of baking soda inside the vehicle will help keep the stink out, and change the oil before parking the vehicle for a long period of time.
