on an open diff, the power will go to the wheel with least resistance. so possibly on sand, with equal resistance, both front wheels may spin for a second or two.

Maybe they spun for a bit and by the time it starts transfering i have traction like you said idk. Thanks for the replies guys much appretiated

Been using Lubelocker gaskets. They are reusable and you'll never have to buy any RTV ever again. Read some reviews if you're unfamiliar.
