How big is the difference in off roading in a 4x2 vs 4x4 XJ

Why do people call it a 4x2 when its a 2 wheel drive?

4x4=4 wheel 4 driven

Driving offroad with open differentials it's more like this;
4x4 = one rear wheel and one front wheel
2WD= one rear wheel

no, the low range system resides in the transfer case. 4x2 doesn't have a transfer case, thus no low range.

This question cracks me up. What wheeling is there in tx? come to Washington hun ill show you some real wheeling that you're 2wd can't do.
