flex is when you raise one front wheel up as high as you can, stuffing it under the fender on one side and fully extending the suspension on the ground side.
at least.....thats what i gather.
ive never flexed mine....only owned it a month. once it runs, ill find somewhere to test it

and definition of DD is being able to around town it, drive it on the freeway for 400+ miles, and tow a trailer or a full passenger load at freeway speeds.

Whether posed (96 xj) or not (actual use on a trail), it's always a good thing to test it out. Couple things to remember with flexing though:
1. Disconnecting your sway bars (quick discos for the front, ditch the rear) will increase the flex capabilities of your Jeep.
2. Make sure your brake lines are ling enough to allow for flexing out the suspension. If they're not, you could snap one.
