Default Fair price for 1999 XJ?

Hello, I am new to the site. My apologies if this is in the incorrect section, feel free to move it. I am looking into a local XJ, and want to know what you all think about the price.

Details:
1999 xj
184,000 miles
2 owner (know the current owner. Brother of a friend)
Looks rust free from the quick look over I gave it.
Engine and Trans seem to be good.
4wd works as it should.
Automatic

Bad:
Headliner is starting to sag (not sure how much yet)
Passenger side window motor needs replaced.
Paint in a small section of the hood is starting to chip.

He is currently asking 2k for the jeep. I talked to him last night and asked if he is set on that price or if he would work on it. He said he is willing to come down off the 2k. What do you guys think? Is this worth the money if I can get it for 1500-1800?

Just from what you've stated (both good+bad) it sounds well worth $2k.

Unless it has had the head replaced i would skip the 00-01 years. From the factory they had a head that can crack,Some have cracked and was replaced with a head marked tupy which is cast better and won't crack. The other thing is the low pinion dana 30 which can cause lifting it a pain and its a little weaker then the high pinon dana 30 the 99 back used.

Corrected the title. I didn't notice until I read Andrewmp6's comment that I put 2000 and not 1999. Still a fair price for a '99?

That's a steal.. Mine was $2500 and it needed new tires with in a 100 miles of buying it. I had 165,500 miles but still $2000 for 99 4x4 with better paint then I ever had + had stock tint. But it you won't regret it. (As long as it's not mechanically running good) have you test driven it?
